The Power of a Slow Mind

On my run today I challenged myself, I ran an extra half mile. Keep in mind, I truly dislike running. What I enjoy is when I’m 5 minutes to my finish line and it’s time to walk, slow down, and cool down. While I was nearing the end, just walking along, I saw this snail. Thinking wow this snail has no choice but to take it slow... can you imagine a world where we all took life slow. Where we take some time to slow down and to enjoy each moment instead of rushing through to get to the next.
It is our nature in today’s world to be either asleep or in a constant state of busy. As a society, we put so much value on getting things done at a speed that is unsustainable. We lose so much trying to keep up with all the hustle bustle. It effects everything; The quality of the things we are doing because of our rushed state, our connections and conversations because we are so distracted, our own health as stress robs us of our energy and threatens our physical, mental and emotional health. We should all work on developing a better sense of awareness, we should all work on taking time for ourselves and quit rushing our way through life.
